Here we are....on the verge of being done with mandatory quarantine from COVID-19 & I'm glad to be writing an article about a very positive & bangin' new album from G. Galindo! He released "Truth Be Told", this past February, but like so many things during these strange days it was overshadowed by the occurrence of the pandemic. All of his music videos & live performances including his album release show had to be cancelled. But...I have his album here for you to checkout & some background info about G. Galindo, the artist & the person. I'd like to add my personal opinion that the tracks all have soulful beat production & several of the tracks feature female vocals which I personally love. My favorite track on the album is Back in the Day. Ilove the beat & the rhymes on this song. It takes me back to my childhood & brings back some great memories
Greg explains what this album is all about, in his own words. "This album highlights some of my own struggles and the path to redemption I found through faith and grace. Every song on Truth Be Told tells a story and comes with a different set of emotions. It's a raw, honest, uplifting, and motivational album looking to inspire others to take action, lead by example, and never stop believing in the good fight! "
Greg Galindo aka "G. Galindo", the son of an Air Force father, whose family is originally from San Antonio, was born in Santa Monica, California.. Greg's family has been in Austin for almost thirty years, where he resides with his wife and two children in South Austin. Greg's musical influences started in the mid eighties, when as a little boy, he first heard RUN DMC, LL Cool J, Big Daddy Kane, Whodini, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. Greg began break dancing at eight years old and Hip Hop quickly became something he knew would always be a part of him. Greg would freestyle with friends in high school and at house parties, but it wasn't until his mid twenties, after overcoming several legal obstacles and life altering changes, including becoming a father at twenty years old, that he started to take emceeing seriously. He recorded his first album in 2013 with the duo "Reconciled Dynamix", when they released their debut album "The Great Awakening". Greg has performed many times at SXSW and has hosted an annual "Night of Soul" benefit for SAFE Alliance the last several years to raise funds and awareness for battered and abused women and children.
Greg is the founder of a fitness/personal training business called "Good Fight Fitness". He's also a real estate agent with JB Goodwin Realtors. In all of Greg's endeavors his goal is always to help others help themselves, and achieve their greatest potential, so they can in turn do the same for those looking up to them. Faith, family, mentoring, Hip Hop, and entrepreneurship are his passions and uplifting his people is his purpose.
His musical influences include the likes of Tupac, Scarface, Outkast, Lecrae, Z-Ro, Geto Boys, Immortal Technique, Prince, MJ, Motown, Biggie, LOX, Nas, Tribe Called Quest, Method Man, Citizen Cope, Gary Clark Jr, Nipsey Hussle, and the list goes on......
